Digital Camera Printers - Wireless Wizardry

Time marches on, and technology marches with, or even ahead of time. Each miraculous new invention of the Silicon Age becomes mainstream so quickly that within five years people forget they ever had to do without it. satellite dishes, cell phones, TiVo, and cars that now how to navigate no longer are so commonplace that they are commonplace.

And right along with those communications and transportation breakthroughs have come innovations in the world of digital photography. Film for a camera? Why in the world would you put film in a camera? cameras are those things with the button you press so engage the little light that tells you its time to press the other button while you peer through the lens at the thing you want to photograph.

Waiting to get you pictures back? Why would you want to do that? Whats the point of taking a picture unless you can tell right away how it turned out? Just get a computer, get a digital camera printer, and get to work!

Advantages Of Using A digital camera Printer

Using a digital camera printer to produce hard copies of the photos on your memory card is about the only part of the digital photography process which has a counterpart in traditional photography. Only you dont need a darkroom full of smelly chemicals and the sill it takes to time each developing photo perfectly.

Your digital camera printer will be spitting out your photos in you choice of sizes, after you have used your digital camera software to doctor them as your wish by removing any unattractive details and even adding your own special effects. You can use your digital camera printer to make frameable copies of those moments you so lovingly captures, or to build scrapbooks of memories.

There are a huge number of people who purchased printers when they bought their home computers, and while standard printers are entirely capable of printing out the photos which you upload to your PC from your digital camera, they are not to be confused with digital camera printers. If you want the best possible prints, go with a digital camera printer.

When You Get Your digital Caanera Printer Home

The easy part of getting a digital camera printer is in bringing it home and installing it. You can probably have that accomplished in under ten minutes. digital camera printers are another of the wireless wonders, and you wont be plagued with trying to attach the one more set of wires to your already overly tangled computer work area. You can place you digital camera printer as far as 30 feet from your PC, and they will still be able to dialogue effectively.

Once you digital camera printer has been settled in its new home, take as much time as you need to digest the manufacturers instructions which came with it. You may be a whiz at grasping digital technology, but digital camera printers are still fairly new to the market, and you just might learn something!

Prepare to Succeed

"Success depends upon previous preparation, and without such preparation there is sure to be failure." Confucius

I have a confession. I wasnt always a good planner. Sure, I had a Daytimer, used Outlook and scheduled my meetings. I even had an assistant for years who placed my calendar with my meetings and appointments on my desk every morning. I wrote my kids events at school and doctor appointments in my calendar. I hung birthday party invitations on the fridge at home. At the time, I thought I was organized. But man did things fall through the cracks. Do you ever feel like that? Yes, I knew we had a birthday party this weekend but always ended up buying the gift in a rush on the way there (and at the time I WORKED for the corporate office of a national toy chain! Couldnt I have picked up a gift in one of my many visits to the stores during the week?). So, what I discovered is that there is a difference between keeping a calendar and actually having a plan for what you want to achieve.

Success doesnt just happen at home or at work. Just like a vacation, you need to at least plan where you want to go and figure out how youre going to get there. Then once you have the plan, you can deviate a bit if something interesting comes up but at least you have a framework. Otherwise, you would never get there if you didnt get driving directions or make a flight reservation, right? And if you only make the plans to get to your destination, you would waste a lot of time once you got there just figuring out what you want to accomplish. Chances are this wouldnt be the best use of your vacation time unless of course its one of those vacations where you just want to veg-out and do nothing (which is fine for a vacation but not a life).

Its so easy in our society to just jump in and start running. There was a time in business when there was actually training for jobs. Now, unless there is real technical information to learn, many times, we experience trial by fire. Thats ok and I believe theres real value in experience as opposed to theory however, we begin to live our lives that way too. What happens is that we become reactive and never take the time to step back and sharpen our saw as Stephen R. Covey says or sharpen your ax as Frank Vitetta, the owner of the first company I worked for used to say. If you keep chopping away at the tree that is your life with an ax or saw and you never take a step back to sharpen the ax, you become less productive. Additionally, if you dont plan what youre doing, the tree may fall on you.

So, you must determine where you want to go and devise a plan to get there. Weve all made resolutions and goals before only to have them fall by the wayside. I believe what makes goals achievable is if they support what you believe in. So when you are putting your goals in place, think about what is important to youtake a look from 3,000 feetthe big picture. What do you really value? (Not what do you think you should ) Some of my top values are:

  • Family relationships
  • Authenticity
  • Compassion
  • Love
  • business success
  • respect
  • fitness and health
  • professionalism
These areas of importance help me reaffirm what is important to me and remind of what is not so I dont waste my time. From here, I work with my clients to create true goals for business and personal life that support these values. I start yearly and then break this down into monthly goals and tasks. Then, we break this down into daily habits we put in place to set ourselves up for success. I put my yearly and monthly goals as well as my daily tasks in my planner so I can see them every day.

Its important not to set yourself up for failure and to stop committing to things you know you wont accomplish. Start small. For example if you have always had the goal to be a size 8 but for at least 30 years you have been a size 12, understand that there has got to be something stopping you from achieving this. Stop beating yourself up (when you dont achieve this month after month and year after year) and stop putting it on the list because you either dont want it badly enough, dont know how to achieve it, need more support or have some medical and/or psychological issues around this. If you constantly made promises to a friend and never kept those promises, how long with this friend trust you? Not too long. Thats what you do to yourself when you constantly break your word. Set yourself up for successget some achievements under your belt and keep your word to yourself consistently.

Try these tips to help you plan for success.

  • Use the beginning of the month as an opportunity to start anew. Write your goals for the month on the monthly summary page of your planner.
  • Determine tasks to achieve these goals and write them on your daily planner pages.
  • Take ten minutes before you pack up to leave the office to plan the next day while tasks are still fresh in your mind. Write them in your planner so you can download them from your brain and prevent those 3AM wake up panic sessions.
  • Take 15 minutes during the weekend to plan your week. See where your appointments fall both personal and professional. schedule your exercise (or a yoga class!) on days where you see some time.
  • Have your children pick out their clothes the night before school. Planning isnt just about keeping yourself organized and making you successful. Its about them too.
  • Take another 15 minutes during the weekend and plan your meals for the week. 15 minutes on the weekend can prevent unhealthy eating and stress about food preparation all week.

Think about people and teams that are successful, do they just wing it or do they have playbooks, game plans and strategies to achieve what they want? Success doesnt just happen; like it or not you have to plan. The question is how badly do you want to succeed?

Seven Ways to Have a Wonderful Anniversary

Anniversaries can be a time of stress for couples. Women worry that their husbands will forget all about them on that special day. Men worry that theyll forget and have to throw a gift together at the last minute. But it doesnt have to be this way. Whether youve just remembered your anniversary is tomorrow, or whether youve been thinking about it for weeks, here are seven never-fail ways to give your spouse an anniversary theyll never forget.

A romantic getaway - From a week long sailing vacation on the Greek Islands to a weekend trip to a local bed-and-breakfast, nothing beats a spontaneous romantic getaway on your anniversary. Dont be discouraged from this idea if you dont have a big budget. It doesnt matter how much the vacation costswhats important is that the two of you set aside time to be alone together and lose yourselves in that romantic mood, even if its just for a few days. A new place also helps rev up the romance by adding novelty and a touch of luxury.

A gift to remember - Forget the flowers, chocolates, and jewelry. Give your spouse a gift theyre not expecting this year. For him, its often best to give something special that corresponds to his interests. Has he always wanted to learn to fly planes or play guitar? Buy him some lessons. Does he have a favorite band? Get him concert tickets. Does he love sports? Get him great seats for the big match. For her, its all about demonstrating that youve put thought and time into the gift. Go through your photo albums. Make a collage of your marriagefrom your wedding day through important events like buying your house and the birth of your kids. Make the photos into a DVD movie or into a hardbound coffee-table book.

A surprise party - planning a party is a great way to bring friends and family together to celebrate your love. It doesnt have to be an expensive partybut it does have to correspond to the interests of both. A dinner party, picnic-and-barbecue, pool party, or restaurant gathering are all great ideas. Unless youve got a big budget, keep it simplepaper plates and potluck are all fine.

Renew your vows - this is an extremely romantic idea, and one that doesnt have to break the bank. Gather your friends and family, a suitable vicar and renew your vows in a romantic place like a park, on the beach, or even in your home. Demonstrate to your spouse that youd marry them all over again. These can be as elaborate or as simple as you want. Some couples plan vow-renewal ceremonies as complex as the weddings themselves, while others make them very informal and inexpensive. Either way you do it, its sure to make for a wedding anniversary youll have trouble topping next year.

Write a love letter - Nothing says I love you like, wella letter that says I love you. Of course, its got to say a few other things, as well. But dont give up on this idea just because you arent a prize-winning writer. You dont have to write something brilliant, as long as its heartfelt. And believe me, your spouse will never notice any spelling mistakes if the words you use are sincere. Tell your spouse how attractive, sweet, or funny you thought they were when you met. Tell them how nervous you were on your first date. Tell them the moment you knew you wanted to marry them. Details are importantshow your spouse how clearly you remember those special times.

Watch your wedding video - If youre not up for a big night out or vacation this year, spend a night inside. Get some popcorn, put on slippers and sweatpants, and spend an evening watching your wedding video and leafing through your wedding album. Make sure the kids are at a sleepover or over at Grandmasthis night should be all about the two of you. If you prefer, cook a simple meal for dinneror order Chinese food. Above all, concentrate on each other and on your wedding day. It might be low-key, but it will set the stage for a perfectly romantic anniversary.

Pamper each other - An at-home spa day is a great way to have a wonderful anniversary. Spend an afternoon giving each other deep tissue massages and foot rubs. Dont forget to bring some adult toys to make your at-home spa treatments much more fun and memorable than an ordinary trip to the day spa!

The most important piece of advice I can give you about your anniversary is not to forget it! Mark your diary, calendar our whatever software you use to remember appointments and keep it in mind as the time draws nearer. However, even if you leave it until the last minute, you can still have a memorable anniversary. These creative anniversary ideas are sure to give you wonderful anniversariesat least for the next seven years.

Living Your Dream - Making the Law of Attraction Work FOR You.

Youre born, then you die. Those, apart from taxes apparently, are the only two certainties about your life.

No one tells you why you were born, (they may make a big secret of how, and a big fuss on every anniversary of when, but no why or wherefore is ever forthcoming).

As for the end, thats a complete mystery. Nobody can tell you when that will occur, nor how, and not even especially why. Above all, they cant tell you what will happen to you afterwards. It maybe nothing for all eternity, which I believe is quite a long time. Or there may be choirs of angels, virgins, or reincarnation awaiting us on the other side.

Its not much of a deal really, is it?

The only thing to do, its always seemed to me, is to make the absolute most of this unknown but brief amount of time bracketed between the two events, called your life.

And yet, most of us dont.

Discounting the unfortunates sleeping rough or victims of some heinous crime or hideous disease, (and I dont discount them lightly), the vast majority of folk have their cake but dont eat it.

How many people do you know who wish they had a better or different job, or who complain endlessly about the relationship theyre in, or cheat on it? Or who put an astonishing amount of energy into telling everyone how wrong some other party is, be it their neighbour, son or daughter-in-law, the government or God. Finally, regardless of their circumstances, they wish something was different. When all else seems well with their world, theres always the weather to moan about.

In my umble opinion, its not so much that such folks really do want things to be different, its more that they wouldnt feel they were worth a jot of interest from anyone else if they didnt moan!

To be fulfilled in life, we must come to a place of peace within ourselves. That doesnt mean accepting blithely a bad hand if thats what weve been dealt. It means taking responsibility for that hand and getting a re-deal.

You cannot change the world by moaning about it, nor will you induce happiness or peace by blowing it up.

The way forward is to find the courage to follow your heart wherever it may lead find your dreams and build them, share them, regardless of the odds. The difficulty for most people comes when following the dream leads to disappointment or even disaster.

Thats when fear sets in. We refuse to do it again in case the worst happens and we settle for a compromised life. Negativity takes over.

Fortunately, it can be overcome and its not as difficult as you might imagine. Begin by noticing that the Universe works perfectly. The world keeps turning. Birds, with brains smaller than golf balls, remember to migrate and know exactly where theyre going. Flowers bloom in the spring, (tra-la!)

Your nature is no different. Your body knows how to digest food, produce millions of new liver cells every second and grow your fingernails all without the slightest interference from you!

The laws of the universe dont stop working just for you, either. Gravity, (as your bathroom scales will remind you!), still works for you. And so does the Law of Attraction!

Overcoming your own doubt and scepticism is the issue here, not whether things work! The first step on that path, (and its not a long one), is noticing what works rather than the more common practice of focussing on whats broken!

A journalist, Ive heard, asked Roy disney, brother of the late Walt, how he thought Walt would have felt about not seeing disney world. (Walt had passed away before it was opened). Roy turned to the reporter indignantly and replied, It was precisely because walt saw all of this that were standing here today.

I still am not sure what happens to you afterwards.

But I am sure that the reason youre here is to follow those dreams, and live them, as Tony Robbins would say, with passion.

Making A Preventive Stop With Pool Covers

Summer time is approaching and it is already tempting to take a plunge in your swimming pool. Sunday gatherings and barbeque weekends beside the pool is becoming more and more popular during this time. But in as much as we would like to enjoy the poolside activities, danger also finds its space in every poolside gathering.

Statistics shows that accidental pool drowning is one of the causes of deaths for children 5 years and under. And if we would try to analyze this, we would realize that the useless loss of childrens lives could be completely prevented.

Securing the pool is very important if we want to prevent these children deaths from happening. But draining the pool as a preventive measure would not ensure the safety of the children. Oftentimes, it contributes to the danger, as pools are still open. And if we only drain the water from the pool, the risk does not diminish.

The total solution to this problem is by using pool covers.

pool covers are designed to keep the pool maintained if not in use while protecting your children from drowning. It will keep the children safe even if they play unattended near the pool.

But the benefits of pool covers do not end here and pool covers job is not limited on this particular function. pool covers also let you save money during hot and dry weather. As pool covers secure the people from the outside, they also maintain the water inside. During the intense summer heat, uncovered swimming pools of a normal size lose more than 800 gallons of water in a week. But if you are going to use pool covers, the loss will be minimal or totally controlled since pool covers keep the waters in tact because they do not allow the water to evaporate.

It is not only water that pool covers protect. The chemicals such as chlorine would also be maintained. And due to the high cost of this chemical, it is wise to cover your pool rather than refilling your pool every time it demands.

If your swimming pool happens to be located indoor, pool cover can also reduce the amount of energy required to keep the area ventilated. Pool covers also keep the building maintained. This is because pools have chemicals that evaporate and could cause corrosion to the building. Directly affected from this is the metal fixtures, window frames, and other metallic objects near the pool area.

Compared to uncovered pool, pools with covers cut the maintenance cost as it eliminate the need for frequent cleaning. This in turn would not require you to hire and pay a person to clean the pool for you Pool covers protect the pool from dirt, debris, sand, leaves, and other particles that may cause the water to become dirty.

Pool covers save a lot of energy and keep your water bill to a minimum as they protect the water clean and safe. Pool covers save lives of innocent children by keeping them off the water that can cause sure drowning. Pool covers let the family enjoy the summer weekend without worrying so much about the maintenance of the pool. And to top it all, pool covers keep you and your children safe while keeping the water and your bill clean.

Hubs, Switches And Routers - What's The Difference?

The backbone of a computer network uses 3 types of devices to interconnect computers -- hubs, switches and routers. Each is important and serves a different role in facilitating communication between networked computers. From the outside these devices may look similar -- small, metal boxes with multiple connectors or ports where ethernet cables are attached (routers may also expose other types of connectors). The terms 'hub', 'switch', and 'router' are often used interchangeably and misused -- in fact, the devices are quite different. Hubs are used to simply interconnect individual computers. Switches do the same (but more efficiently). However, routers interconnect different networks (as opposed to individual machines).

Network Hub:
Compared to switches and routers, hubs are the least expensive, simplest device on the network. All data that enters one port of the hub is sent out all the other ports. Hence, all computers connected to the same hub see each other's network communications. The hub doesn't pay any attention to the transmitted data, it simply passes it along to its other ports. A hub's value lies in the fact it is inexpensive and offers a quick and easy way to connect computers in a small network.

network Switch:
The job of a switch is similar to a hub's -- but it does it more efficiently. Each packet of data (ethernet frame) that is transmitted on the network has a source and destination mac address. A switch has the ability to remember the address of each computer attached to its ports and will act as a traffic cop -- only passing transmitted data to the destination machine and not all the others. This can have a significant positive affect on network performance because it eliminates unnecessary transmissions and frees-up network bandwidth. A switch can be thought of as the central component of a single network. It is used to interconnect devices on the network and to deliver layer 2 (OSI model) frames. A switch differs from a hub in that it does not retransmit frames to all other devices -- rather, a switch makes a direct link between the transmitting and receiving devices.

network router:
Compared to switches, routers are slow and relatively expensive. A router is an intelligent device that interconnects two or more networks for the purpose of delivering layer 3 (OSI model) packets. Since there may be more than one possible path, a router takes into account multiple criteria when determining which path to send the data packets. The fact that switches and routers operate at different layers of the OSI model indicates they rely on different information (contained in the frames or packets) to send data from a source to a destination.

An important difference between switched and routed networks is switched networks do not block broadcasts. As a result, switches can be overwhelmed by broadcast storms. Routers block lan broadcasts, so a broadcast storm only affects the broadcast domain from which it originated. Since routers block broadcasts, they also provide a higher level of security than switches.

Analogy
Here's an analogy to help explain the difference between a router and switch -- a corporation's mail room. When an employee sends a letter it may (a) be delivered to its final destination by the company's internal mail delivery system or, (b) taken to the local Post Office (if the recipient resides outside the company). A switch represents the corporation's mail room, and a router the local Post Office.

A switch does not look inside the mail or examine the type of mail being delivered. The only logic behind a switch is a table of mac addresses (one for each computer on the network) and which port a destination mac is connected. That is, the switch stores a table of company employees and their office numbers and is responsible for delivering internal mail directly to employees. So, if mail arrives at the switch that is destined for an employee then a switch knows how to deliver it. A router, on the other hand, is responsible for delivering mail destined for individuals outside the company. In addition, routers can look inside the mail and delivery rules can be applied based on the mail's contents. This feature allows routers to play an important role in network security.

How a Switch Operates:
Switches are essentially multi-port bridges. They were designed to reduce the size of collision domains. In addition to faster CPUs and memory, two other technological advances made switches possible -- Content Addressable Memory (CAM) and application-specific integrated circuits (ASIC). CAM is memory that works backward compared to conventional memory -- that is, given a data value the memory returns the associated address. This allows a switch to directly find the port associated with a mac address (the data value). An ASIC is a device that can be programmed to perform functions at logic speeds in hardware. The use of CAM and ASIC technologies greatly reduced the delays caused by software processing and enabled a switch to keep pace with the demands of high data rates in Ethernet networks.

Switches can operate in one of three modes -- store-and-forward, cut-through and fragment-free. The trade-offs are performance versus reliability. In store-and-forward switching the switch reads the entire frame and checks for errors. In cut-through switching the switch reads the beginning of the frame up through the destination MAC address. In fragment-free switching the first 64 bytes of a frame are read -- enough to determine whether or not it is a collision fragment (which account for the majority of frame errors).

The Layer 2 switch builds its forwarding table using MAC addresses. When a host has data for a non-local IP address, it sends the frame to the closest router (also known as its default gateway). The host uses the MAC address of the router as the destination MAC address.

How a router Operates:
Just as a switch keeps a table of known MAC addresses, a router keeps a table of IP addresses known as a routing table. An important function of a router is to maintain these tables and make sure other routers are notified of changes in the network topology. This function is performed using routing protocols to communicate with other routers. When packets arrive at a router's interface it applies various criteria and protocols to determine the best path on which to transmit the packet to its next destination.

A router can be programmed to apply sophisticated rules based on the contents of the data packets that it sees. For example, routers can be programmed to act as hardware firewalls, can implement network address translation (NAT) and provide DHCP services to the network.

Because of their built-in intelligence, routers are generally considered the most complex devices on a network. In addition to directing packet traffic, routers can be configured to monitor network traffic, adapt to changes in the network that they detect dynamically, and protect networks by filtering packets and determining which packets will be blocked or allowed through.
